Building Momentum for VCs and Startups

Building Momentum for VCs and Startups

BuildingMomentum_blog

At Creative Blue, we’re thrilled to announce our participation in an upcoming in-person event: Unicorner is hosting a networking event as part of the larger SF and LA TechWeeks. Like-minded people are converging for discussions on emerging technologies and potential investment opportunities. We’re there to join in on the excitement and help prospective new partners gain momentum for their next big initiative.

Our Expertise with VCs and Startups

Over the last couple of years, we’ve been working with a wide range of clients – from Google to non-profits, doing projects like rebranding and comprehensive marketing strategies. But we’ve noticed that we especially love working with VCs and startups, which has become our bread and butter—they are in our true “zone of genius.”

“Your zone of genius is what’s most effortless for you. If you are truly able to relax and begin the work, you recognize that you are able to create almost instantaneously, and without too much thought. When you combine this natural talent and skill with hours of practice and repetition, you find yourself among the small percentage of people who can break through and redefine an industry.” – Forbes

We recently had an internal conversation that made the reason why “click:” every startup and VC has an initiative on the horizon (from a sales push to a fundraising event) that, if handled well, could change everything. That’s distinctly different from the priorities of a large corporate client, for example, who is much more interested in maintaining and building on what is already working.

We love making a difference for our clients. That’s why we love the work we do with VCs and startups (and why they love working with us), and we want to do more of it. So, we created something unique by codifying a small sample of what we do best for our clients.

Introducing the Discovery Sprint

We recognized the need to offer an introductory service that aligns with our ideal clients’ immediate goals. This led us to develop the Discovery Sprint—where you’re at, where you want to be, and how we can get there.

In a Discovery Sprint, we:

  1. Gather Context: Get an understanding of where you’re at now, where focus has been, and what has worked and not worked.
  2. Identify the Goal: Determine what outcome you’re looking to achieve, whether that’s brand recognition, standing out from competitors, or a clearly understood product value.
  3. Strategize: Discuss the best approaches to achieve momentum for the identified goal, which could involve fundraising materials, sales initiatives, or significant events.

Following the call, we provide a Reflection Doc— a document that recaps what was discussed that can be shared with the rest of your team, arming you with something tangible for the next steps. Whether or not you choose to work with us, we want you to smash your next initiative and gather the most important force in business: momentum.

The Power of Momentum

During our team discussion, we had an “ah-ha” moment. We realized most clients are not seeking full-rebranding services. Above anything else, they’re looking to generate momentum from their next initiative. To channel one win into another win… into another win… and so on.

When our clients approach us, they bring a wealth of past efforts—internal brainstorms, past deliverables. Some of the material worked in the past, some of it flopped. Some of it is still true today, some of it has since pivoted. This context is critical for understanding friction points.

Really, what our clients want more than anything is not to scrap the old work and start from scratch. They want us to understand the context, filter what is important, and guide them in where to focus energy to finally gain momentum.

That’s where we can help.

Whether securing funding, driving a sales campaign, or achieving success at a major event, our role is to integrate your existing efforts into a cohesive strategy that amplifies your next move.
